First thing you want to do is prepare the surface. Unless your home has been through some sort of disaster, there won’t be too much preparation to worry about. All you are going to need to do is be sure it is smooth and sanded if you have to.
Second step is priming. This is an easy stage and the main goal is to use a primer that is tinted close to the finish color. This will make it easier to apply the finish color.
Third step in this procedure is to do a surface preparation again. This step is used to make sure you haven’t missed anything from the first go around. Things such as nail holes, or any other dents or blemishes in the wall. You are going to be using a drywall compound to have those holes filled.
Fourth step is to put on that first coat of paint. With this part of the process you are going to want to paint brush one wall at a time.Â
Fifth thing to do is doing surface preparation one more time. You are doing this to check over the surface one last time to make sure it is smooth prior to the last coat of paint. Once again, any imperfections you find can be fixed with a drywall compound.
Final step is to apply the second coat of paint. This is going to be the best part because your hard work will now all come together for you to see. So once again, apply and finish one surface wall at a time. Ensure that the coat is evenly distributed.Â
